Women Empowerment

Shree Shakti Consciousness Foundation is working towards Empowering Women for securing for them a self-reliant future

What We Do ?

In adopted communities, comprising of villages near urban cities and in the hills, SSCF’s interlinked Healthcare, Nutrition and Digital Literacy Programs further SSCF’s vision of securing self-reliant futures for women. SSCF understands that apart from teaching adult women a traditional skill set such as sewing, Women Empowerment also means nurturing the young to arm them with knowledge of new age skills and therefore SSCF also imparts Digital Literacy to young girls.

Why SSCF Started The Women Empowerment Program?

In the early years of adopting communities around its establishment SSCF found stark inequities in otherwise prevalent inequalities which arose from a privileged and underprivileged divide. The women of the village were worse off as compared to the men as undernourishment led to severely compromised immunities which in turn resulted in complete lack of energy to pursue basic education for self-reliant futures. SSCF founded on one of the beliefs of advocating equal rights for women which belief is also entrenched within its value system started its activities to empower women.

Early Fight against Novel Coronavirus COVID-19

Sunday, August 09, 2020

In the midst of the early chaos caused from the recent introduction and spread of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 in India, SSCF, while following all social distancing norms conducted a special camp for its adopted community in Sala Pur Khera Village. The event saw hundreds coming out to procure SSCF’s COVID Relief Kit comprising of Multivitamins, Calcium, Zinc, Vitamin C and Face Masks while following social distancing protocols with the assistance of SSCF’s dedicated team of volunteers. The batches which came seeking aid were also made aware of the special importance of hand hygiene, which was being taught all along, during the pandemic and on how it was an excellent precaution to keep the virus at bay.

Children of Pratyek

Sunday, October 13, 2019

SSCF reserved one day of its regular schedule, in which monthly medical camps were conducted for the patients of Salapur Khera Village, to run a routine health check for children of Pratyek who are imparted education under SSCF’s Digital Literacy Program (#FightingChance). Over 100 young adolescent children were first examined and thereafter prescribed and dispensed with multi vitamins to boost immunity. The children thoroughly enjoyed the excursion and some even showcased their talents, including beat boxing, to the SSCF family. Later in the day, volunteers of SSCF, along with the doctors, also conducted sessions on creating awareness among the children on the importance of maintaining strong mental health and the importance of how not to succumb to peer pressure which led to experimentation with the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco. The closing of the medical camp saw the children have their fill of the wholesome scrumptious lunch prepared by SSCF, under its Community Nutrition Program, after which they returned back to St. Columba’s School.
